Bean is made by Aeyar Studio ("we", "us"). Bean is an expense tracker built to be private by design. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your information when you use the app. The short version: we do not have accounts, we do not run analytics, and we never see your spending data.
Bean has no login and no user accounts. You do not give us your name, email, or any personal details to use the app. We do not ask for and do not receive that information.
The expenses you log (amounts, categories, dates, notes, payment method, and similar) are stored locally on your device. If you turn on iCloud sync, that data is backed up to your own private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, so it can move between your devices and return if you get a new phone. This data lives in your iCloud account, under your control. We cannot access it, and it never reaches our servers.
Bean Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Payments are processed by Apple, not by us. To manage your subscription status (for example, to know whether Pro is active or restored), we use RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives purchase events and a randomly generated, anonymous identifier for your installation, along with basic device and transaction details. It does not receive your name or email. Bean's spending insights are generated on your device using Apple Intelligence. Your expenses are read locally to write a short summary of your month. This processing happens on the device, and the content of your expenses is not sent to us or to any server for analysis.
Bean contains no third-party analytics, no advertising, and no tracking SDKs. We do not build a profile of you and we do not sell or share data with anyone.
To work well, the app occasionally fetches public information. None of these requests include your personal or spending data:
The optional daily reminder is scheduled and delivered locally on your device by iOS. We do not run a server that sends you notifications, and the content of your reminders is not transmitted to us.
You can delete any expense inside the app, and you can export your data to a CSV or JSON file at any time. Deleting the app removes its local data from your device. If you used iCloud sync, you can also remove the data from your iCloud storage in your device settings.
Bean is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and post the new version here. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
